Minimizing Climbing Impacts at Bishop's Peak

Climbing in the Bishop's Peak Natural Reserve is a privilege.  Unlike other sports such as paragliding, climbing has few restrictions placed on it by the city.  As long as climbers don't present problems for the rangers the Parks Department will probably allow us to manage ourselves. That means we need to act responsibly and be aware of our impacts on other people and on park resources. Keeping in mind the simple suggestions below will help ensure free access to Bishop's Peak climbing.

The following guidelines are adapted from the recommendations by several nationally recognized organizations that advocate for climbers, listed in the References section at the end. Items prohibited by city regulation are underlined.
